Caregiving is a challenging, yet rewarding experience. Providing a loved one with daily assistance for such tasks as transportation, homemaking, nursing and personal care, can be physically taxing, emotionally draining, and financially burdensome. Change is also the most predictable aspect of caregiving. You can expect to have strong feelings as you manage the role and responsibilities of caring for a loved one. Coping with these changes successfully is the key to having a fulfilling and satisfying caregiving experience. As well, understanding how to balance responsibilities by taking care of your needs and involving others helps manage the natural stress and isolation of being a caregiver.
The Education Series will help you define and adjust to the numerous practical and emotional issues that the responsibilities and role of “caregiver” presents.
